Terms of Service
Last updated: October 19, 2026. Pre-launch draft — the connector is in development. Operated by Snowball IMN LLC, a New York limited liability company ("the Platform," "we"). Contact: [email protected].
1. What this service does
Tip Jar is a connector inside Meta's Muse that lets fans send one-tap tips to creators. The Platform is the merchant of record for every tip: the charge runs on the Platform's Stripe account and is split at charge time between the creator and the Platform. Creators receive funds through Stripe Express connected accounts; fans pay through Link and confirm each total in chat before anything is charged. Your card statement shows TIPJAR* <creator display name> for the charge. Tips recognize creative work — they are not purchases of goods, contractual deliverables, or tax-deductible charitable donations.
2. Accounts
- Creators must complete Stripe's hosted identity verification before receiving tips. Tips to unverified creators are refused — no exceptions.
- Fans need no account with us. Paying through Link is between the fan and Stripe; we never see or store card details.
- You must be 18 or older to receive tips as a creator. Fans must meet the age requirements of their payment method.
3. Fees — 0% creator fee, disclosed up front
- Creators pay no fee: every tip routes the full intended tip to the creator (the 0% Creator Fee / 100% Payout Guarantee). The supporter funds a Platform service fee of 5.0% of the intended tip or $0.50, whichever is greater. A processing allowance covering card, fraud-screening, and payout costs is included in the total shown to the supporter. The full total is shown to the fan before they confirm, and to the creator at onboarding. What you see before confirming is what is charged. Minimum tip: $5.00.
- The Platform nets at least $0.50 on every settled, non-reversed transaction. The $50.00 payout floor ensures every active creator account covers its monthly Stripe Connect costs, except for final payouts at account closure and aged-balance payouts. On a Platform-initiated reversal (fraud or duplicate charge), the Platform absorbs the non-refundable processing cost.
- The fee parameters change only on the Platform operator's explicit authorization. Creators cannot change the fee model from inside the connector.
4. Payouts
- Creator funds land in their Stripe Express balance. Every account is provisioned with manual payouts and
debit_negative_balances=true before onboarding, so payouts are always ACH to a verified US bank account — debit-card payouts are disabled in the platform's Connect payout settings.
- Creator balances are paid out monthly (Tier 1) or weekly (Tier 2) once eligible funds reach $50.00. New creators' first payout is available no sooner than 30 days after their first tip; after that, tips become eligible 14 days after they're made. Tier 1 tips are capped at $500.00 in intended tip amounts per rolling 30 days (intake pauses at $1,000.00 held balance). Eligible balances below $50.00 are paid out in full after 12 months, or upon account closure after the 120-day dispute reserve window (§8).
- There is no on-demand "payout now" — payouts are automatic via the platform payout job.
- Tier 1 rolling reserve: 10% of each Tier 1 payout is held as a reserve for 120 days to cover disputes, then released with your next payout. The reserve is released in full when you graduate to Tier 2 with no open disputes. You still receive 100% of every tip. Your Stripe Express dashboard shows your full balance, including the reserved amount; reserved funds are paid out automatically once released.
- Bank-change hold: if you change the bank account that receives your payouts, your payouts are held for 7 days while we confirm the change with you by email.
- The Platform may pause payouts or intake if fraud is suspected, and will notify the affected creator.
5. Refunds
- Tips are non-refundable once settled. There is no supporter-initiated refund path.
- The Platform may reverse a transaction on its own initiative for proven or issuer-reported fraud (including an early fraud warning from the card issuer) or a duplicate charge. The supporter's full payment is refunded. The creator's transfer is reversed through Stripe, and the Platform returns its retained portion.
- Payment disputes go through the dispute process below (§6), not through refunds.
6. Disputes and chargebacks
- Payment disputes are handled through Stripe's dispute process. The creator is responsible for funds reversed by a successful dispute against their tips.
- Stripe debits the Platform first; the Platform recovers the amount by reversing the transfer. Connected accounts are provisioned with
debit_negative_balances=true so any remaining negative balance is recovered from the creator's linked external bank account. The $15.00 Stripe dispute fee is recovered from the creator along with the disputed amount. Disputed amounts and dispute fees are recovered first from the creator's Stripe balance, including any reserved funds.
- Abusive dispute behavior (serial chargebacks, friendly fraud) is grounds for account termination.
7. Acceptable use
No tips for illegal goods or services, fraud, harassment, hate, or anything that violates Stripe's restricted-business rules or Meta's connector policies. The Platform may refuse or reverse any transaction it reasonably believes violates this section.
8. Termination
- Creators may stop using Tip Jar at any time. If a creator closes their Tip Jar or disconnects their account, the remaining balance is held for 120 days to cover the card-network dispute window, then paid out in full regardless of the $50.00 floor.
- The Platform may suspend or terminate a creator's tip jar for violations of these terms, suspected fraud, or loss of Stripe account good standing, with notice where practicable.
9. Liability
- The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform's liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees the Platform retained on the transactions at issue.
- Nothing here limits liability for fraud or willful misconduct.
10. Changes to these terms
- Material changes will be communicated to creators in advance through the connector and take effect no sooner than 14 days after notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
- Fee-model changes additionally require the Platform operator's explicit authorization and are disclosed to fans before confirmation from the moment they take effect.
